How to Measure & Mix Cobble Loc for Any Project
Cobble Loc by Surfacelogix is a two-part, water-based clear sealer designed to protect concrete pavers, natural stone, stamped concrete, and other concrete surfaces. It is a popular choice among professionals as it can allow for both cleaning and sealing of concrete pavers on the same day. Surfacelogix offers several variations and sizes of Cobble Loc, however, the process for mixing and measuring is the same. This blog will cover the basics, including mixing ratios, a how-to video, and instructions for handling any unused product.
How to Properly Mix Cobble Loc
Cobble Loc is packaged as a concentrated two-part kit. Each kit comes with a Part A and Part B that requires mixing and dilution.
- Start by combining Parts A and B and mixing thoroughly with a drill for 3 to 5 minutes. Mix gently and avoid creating bubbles in the mixture. Using the proper ratio of Parts A and B is very important. When mixing a full batch of Cobble Loc, the full contents of both A and B should be combined. When mixing a partial batch, a ratio of 4 parts of A to 1 part of B should be used.
- If necessary, divide the mixture equally into separate buckets to allow room for dilution.
- Add water to each bucket at a 1:1 ratio - one-part water to one-part mixed Cobble Loc (parts A and B combined). Gently mix each bucket for an additional 3 to 5 minutes, and you will be ready to seal.

What is Pot Life?
The term "pot life" refers to the amount of time between when Parts A and B are combined and when that mixture has cured to the point where it can no longer be applied. All two-component sealers have a pot life, and for Cobble Loc, it is approximately 2 hours.
If you find that there’s leftover product in your bucket after the pot life has expired, do not attempt to use it. Leftover material should be discarded once the pot life has passed. Even if the material has not fully cured, using this product will lead to undesired results. Plan your application accordingly so you are not left with excess product that will be discarded.
Tips for Avoiding Wasted Sealer
You can avoid wasting mixed product (and money) on the job site by planning your steps in advance and following these tips:
- Finish preparing the surface and masking any nearby surfaces
- Wait until you are ready to start applying
- Only mix as much as Cobble Loc as you expect to use within that pot life. Be sure to refer to the mixing instructions above as well as the coverage estimates found on the product label or technical data sheet.
What to do with Leftover or Unused Product
Unmixed components can be saved for later use. Be sure to keep Part A and Part B separate until you are ready to mix and apply them. Please follow storage instructions and shelf life found on Cobble Loc's label.
Leftover mixed product should be disposed of it in a garbage can once it has hardened. Please do not dispose of liquid or mixed product before it has fully hardened, as it can create safety hazards, a difficult mess to clean up, and possibly have negative environmental impact.
